Kidney Stones are Often Excreted without Symptoms

Researchers have found that a higher percentage of kidney stones were excreted without pain or any other symptoms in patients suffering from kidney stones. They also found out that the size of the stones that were passed unnoticed did not differ significantly from the size of those that caused pain when passed. This led them to believe that stone size alone is not a reliable indicator of whether a stone will cause symptoms.
