Kern & Sohn presented analytical and precision scales, moisture analyzers and microscopes that can be integrated into digital laboratory processes at analytica 2026. The focus was on software-supported recording and further processing of measuring and weighing data. The world’s leading trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis and biotechnology took place in Munich, Germany from 24 to 27 March 2026.

The Kern Balanceconnection software plays a key role, enabling measuring and weighing data to be automatically recorded, documented and processed further. At the trade fair, the company demonstrated the application using a networked system consisting of the high-end Kern ABP-A analytical scale, the Kern DBS moisture analyzer and the Kern PDS precision scale. The software connects multiple measuring devices in parallel or synchronizes with a PC and serves as a central interface for digital processing of the measuring data, shares the firm.

Many laboratories face the challenge of integrating measurements into their digital processes reliably and without media discontinuity, mentions the company. With Kern Balanceconnection, measuring data can be automatically recorded and reproducibly documented, even for long-term tests or continuous recordings.

Kern also presented the latest analytical and precision scales from the ADS/PDS series with semi-touch display. In addition to the Kern DBS, the company also introduced the new Kern DIS moisture analyzer, which delivers precise results even with low moisture content, adds the firm.

The family-owned company also showcased various transmitted light, video and fluorescence microscopes, including a new fluorescence microscope with LED technology. Additional measuring devices such as digital refractometers for applications in quality control and process monitoring were also exhibited.
