New Therapy Can Prevent Allergic Reactions

Researchers have developed a new therapy which selectively targets immune cells responsible for allergic responses. A pilot study was also carried out on mice and it was noted that the therapy demonstrated 100 % success in preventing allergic responses without causing noticeable side effects.

Heart Failure Could be Prevented for Cancer Patients

The EU-funded Resilience project aims to prevent heart failure in cancer patients who need anthracyclines. The project is testing a promising preventive treatment called remote ischaemic conditioning in lymphoma patients at risk for anthracycline cardiotoxicity. If the results are positive, heart failure could be significantly reduced in cancer survivors.
