Abb. 2: Rare event detection. A large field is acquired at low magnification and with only one channel (in this case DAPI-stained nuclei). Based on automated image analysis and adjustment of imaging parameters, objects of interest are acquired at high magnification and multiple colors (or time points and z-sections). With this targeted image acquisition, the re- searcher saves a lot of time and does not have to find spots in the sample by visual inspection anymore.
