Ballerup/Denmark — Joachim Holm has been appointed managing director of the Shimadzu office in Denmark. On 1 April, he took over the reins at the office established 18 months ago in Ballerup on the outskirts of Copenhagen, which was previously managed centrally by the management of Shimadzu Europe and locally by Morten Thorslund, sales and service manager.
With Joachim Holm, Shimadzu has appointed an experienced senior sales leader specialising in pharma, life science and medical products. Holm studied pharmacy and business management in Copenhagen and has held several management positions at notable medical technology and pharma companies in recent years, including Chemometec and Specific Pharma. Thanks to his role as manager with responsibility for the Nordic countries — at Medtronic, among other places — he is familiar with the entire Scandinavian market. The 43-year-old lives with his family in the Copenhagen metropolitan area.
Holm wishes to focus his expertise on further developing Denmark‘s Shimadzu office: “Denmark is an important location for the growth sectors of healthcare, the environment and science. Our systems can deliver important benefits and drive developments. The establishment of the Shimadzu office in Denmark has already significantly improved links with the Danish market. We wish to intensify these relationships over the coming years and expand them across the entire Scandinavian market together with our colleagues in Norway and Sweden.”
Joachim Holm is supported by a 15-strong team, which is on hand to assist customers in the areas of sales and service, training and application support.
