The entire spectrum of the fine chemicals industry
Chemspec Europe is Serving as a Marketplace
? Fewer and fewer pharmaceutical and agrochemical companies consider production of active substances as a core competency and are therefore on the lookout for specialised companies for exclusive synthesis of their active substances, which develop and produce on their behalf, and are also closely connected as partners in the supply chain. What is the role played by outsourcing in the trade fair?
Hamann: Outsourcing, sub-contracting as well as contract and toll manufacturing play an important role at the show. Chemspec Europe is serving as a marketplace for buyers to find companies that develop and produce specific products. Furthermore, it is vital for the industry sector to build networks in order to guarantee reliable supply chains. Exchange of expertise and networking are important focal points of the event. We offer our attendees a large number of areas alongside the exhibition in order to facilitate building new business contacts with industry specialists from all over the world.
? For the first time this year, there is “Start-ups Talks: New Chemicals & Industrial Biotechnology”. What can visitors expect from this?
Hamann: This is a series of presentations of start-ups in the fine and speciality industry. Eight highly innovative companies in the fields of classical chemistry and industrial biotechnology present their new substances and innovative processes; the presentations are rounded off by discussions on financing possibilities, partnerships and acquisition. This new feature has been created in cooperation with BCNP Consultants and we are confident that it will add value to the event, for both exhibitors as well as visitors, because it is targeted in particular to new and young companies of the fine and speciality chemicals industry.
? Ms. Hamann, after Cologne and Basel, this year’s trade fair location for Chemspec Europe is Munich for the second time. What makes visiting the trade fair so special this time?
Hamann: More than 360 companies from 24 countries will exhibit at this year’s Chemspec Europe and compared to the previous event the exhibition space has grown further. The exhibiting companies are manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of fine and speciality chemicals. They present their latest products and services from a wide range of areas, such as pharma, agriculture, food and drink, cosmetics, household and industrial cleaning, water treatment, adhesives and sealants, colourants and dyestuffs, coatings, petrochemicals, catalysts, polymers as well as reprographic and ink chemicals. No other exhibition offers such a comprehensive offer of fine and speciality chemicals together with such a variety of free conferences and networking areas. Visitors to the two-days-show will be able to meet with a large number of international manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in a shortest possible period of time. Furthermore, they can get an overview of the latest industry trends and product innovations and can find new business opportunities.
